Applying to the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism

One-year and three-year Programs: Applications for admission are accepted on a rolling basis. It is recommended that prospective students apply at least three to six months before the intended start date. The application deadline for our 2008 programs is January 1st, 2008 though extensions are available.
Qualified applicants for our extended training programs (Family Herbalist & Clinical Herbalist) are those individuals who are prepared for and committed to the personal and academic journey that intensive study in healing work entails. We welcome students with prior training or self-study. You may submit documentation of prior learning and experience for review in order to enter into Year 2 or 3 without completion of previous courses with VCIH.

In the spirit of Nature’s diversity, all individuals, regardless of race, color, religious or spiritual belief, cultural background, sexual orientation, gender identification, or relationship to any individual member of VCIH are eligible for admission to our programs and for services in our clinic.

Admission Procedure
Please fill out the Application for Admission (Click here to download). Include a deposit of $250.00 for full-year enrollment to secure your place in the program; if no deposit is included, we can not hold your space. The deposit is nonrefundable upon your acceptance into the program and will be applied to your tuition. In the event that you are not accepted, your deposit will be refunded to you in full.

Once an application is received, we will contact you to schedule a formal admissions interview. We strongly recommend that students visit VCIH in person, but the interview can also be conducted via phone if necessary.


Single classes from our Family Herbalist program: Applicants who wish to participate in a portion of our Family Herbalist training program (class listings available here) can submit individual applications for each class. Please contact us well before the class start date; we cannot guarantee space availability.

Admission Procedure
Please fill out a Registration Form (Click here to download) for each class you wish to attend. Include a deposit of $50.00 for each class. We will forward a class syllabus and additional information as soon as possible after the receipt of your deposit. In the event of class cancellation, your deposit will be refunded. After the first day of class, it will be non-refundably applied to your tuition.
